It came softly upon midnight's breath, turning seasons from green to white, bringing the pre-dawn sparrows to chirp a wistful tune... nestled securely on, around, and in-between winter's chill.

I love your nonet and the image that ideally goes with it. The change in the season and the change from green to white is so subtly described. The changes take place gently as the soft landing of midnight's breath. I love the opening two lines the most. A great entry for the contest. All the Best dear Sara !

Oh my, I truly love the hues of delicateness and elegance that this poem breathes! Just as that opening line began, my heart felt so spellbound by the whimsical essence of your words.. "It came softly upon midnight's breath" And how you've described the change of sceneries from green to white, as seasons oscillate in the guidance of time.. Wistful tunes bring a sombre touch for this nonet.. Very evocative and beautifully crafted! I'm sure ink will love reading this, it's so gorgeous :)

I nice photo with beautiful use of chiaroscuro and then contrast of another color. A wonderful nonet to capture the scene. Reads like a good contender to me. Thanks for sharing your contest entry with us and for dropping by my page. Sara K

So lovely, my friend. What a wonderful reminder that even in the depths of winter, the birds still sing "in between winter's chill!" Terrific image at the end of your poem. It begs the question do we sing our song "in between winter's chill?" wonderful metaphor. Best wishes for the contest. Sending you blessings of Christmas joy!
