No Adult About It For Adult Contest

All my life I've been a grown up Missing out on being a happy pup Responsibilities beyond my years Tired from wiping away other's tears So now I embrace my sillier side With my inner child I choose to confide I've found him to be the best part of me With his big blue eyes I can clearly see Now I search for happy in other's eyes laughing adult children are truly wise For in the end we have no one to blame If we choose boring and a life that's tame Choose serious or embrace inner child Try being mixed up and just a bit wild Don't let yourself take the magic away Learn about yourself by learning to play! Thanks F.J. for causing me to contemplate! "The True Meaning of Being an Adult"Contest. Written April 25th 2015.

All though life, we still have that modicum of being a child. It's how childish we be at whatever age. Fine poetry Richard, nice, James :)

In the end, Richard, embracing the 'sillier' and childlike side of life is what's best. We develop a softer heart towards the world, other people and ourselves. I am glad I revisited this tonite when coming to work!

A touching, gentle, and poetic look at what we were and what we strive to be.

Oh wow! I too cannot get rid of the child in me and I enjoy being childlish even though I've been known to say some mature serious wise tings as Im a researcher too. I enjoyd this fabulous rhyming poem, hearty happy go lucky in a sweet way., as u deserve to bring out the playful child in u esp since it didnt have chance in childhood. Kudos! Nice to read u again.

I agree "Dark One" what a dreary life it would be without the laughter and smiles. You have gifted me with many.

wise words indeed Richard - we all have the inner child inside and need the chance to play and let go of the responsibilities once in a while - I see children at school who act as carers for their parents - children forced to grow up so so quickly who miss out on so many child hood experiences:-( hugs Jan xx

That was both me and my wife, now we enjoy the freedom that comes from not taking ourselves to seriously. My son said to mary when he was about 12 that I have a lot of kid in me. I can't think of a better compliment.
