Never Is Forever
is affection the only path to love,
is adoration the answer to one’s fate?
after what might have been ended, I see…
sometimes love’s just never enough-
and
never is a long time without you
so I walk into the foyer and see photo’s
taken with spiteful smiles,
familiar enemies, yet allies near the ones
who would never understand frail hearts-
they could never comprehend how two
souls vowing forever, not never, under
the autumn cool sun say…
sometimes love’s just never enough
am I weak for believing farewells exist,
do I really feel the pressure of goodbye…
needing what should have been bestowed,
fearing when safety should be given with
ease-
fasting for food never nourished,
and emotions never meant to be worn
I sit here and wonder if love really is enough,
and quaint pale memories of loss flow-
for after what might have been ended,
I now see…
sometimes love’s just never enough…
and never is forever without you
