My Soul Dances
My soul dances with poets and their sweet verse
Though in the halls of time we shall never meet
To share poetic realms of shades is bittersweet
As we enter this invisible space our hearts converse
Quiet the poems that will cross the Earth
Read by the soul whose eyes we possess
As we translate metaphors in lines that express
That unravels understanding of a poem's birth
How calm and reasoned the poetic heart
When revealing raw emotion for all to see
To guide the reader like a Joshua Tree
That lead to answers from such worthy art
Beautiful are the poems the heart will wash down
To captivate and expose the human sense
That brings silent reflections without pretense
From a poet, we read from another town
