oh my, this is funny!! Edison said something that maybe is what you meant. He said he loved failing with his experiments because it made him come up with even better solutions (or something to that effect) Anyway, love this!

I think it was something like 'I learned 200 ways to NOT make a lightbulb'(?) I am glad you liked it, thank you!

Well,...much food for thought here... I always wonder why it is that so few of us can learn from others' failures, no matter if they are intimate/family acquaintances. It seems that experience is not just the best, but that it is the only teacher. Why does that have to be? Why? Esp. when failure can be so painful---and as often as not destructive as well.... Thanks for the banquet, Michelle. :) gw

It's painful to fail, which is why so many avoid it, but I believe you can never rise until you fall...

I think fear of failure has stopped many people from trying. The result is many never achieve/experience what they were capable of. I personally don’t look at blips of failure as failure if I learn something along the way. Yes learning from others mistakes helps a great deal.

Ah, yes. I tell my students "mistakes mean you are learning. If you do not take a risk and if you are not willing to make a mistake, you cannot learn."

How we fail shows more of our character than how we win, I think-
