My October Bliss
September softly comes, then leaves;
October breezes in,
and with a touch of magic
weaves her spell on us again,
for happily at dusk we tread
our secret path through trees
that blaze in hues of gold and red
as heaven turns cerise.
And as I’m walking with my love,
a chill wind starts to blow.
we hasten to the entrance of
a cozy bungalow. . .
Our dinner’s fixed; a fire’s lit
inside our hideaway.
Beside a fireplace we sit
at this, the close of day.
As wood smoke rises to the sky,
he warms me with a kiss,
which lends the sweetest quality
to my October bliss.
