My Kind of President

(In honor of my favorite president as Feb. 12, his birthday, approaches). President Lincoln was plain, Good hearted, he served not for gain. Clever Mary Todd snagged that “Honest Abe.” Integrity, wit and charm made him a BABE! Inspired by Catie Lindsey's Contest: "You Who. . . . Yo, Clerihew"

Very few words rhyme with Abe, but you picked a doozy! He's my favorite too, which I believe we may have discussed before... I have a bust of Lincoln in my home. Never thought of him as a babe before now, haha!

He possessed the empathy of a love song with the intellect of an Angel, and became an American Saint Andrea. Yeah, his willpower and charisma made him handsome. J.A.B.

He might have been the last one that could be called "Honest". Good luck in the contest. Vince

Cute one, Andrea. I thought about Lincoln for this contest as well. Nice work. He sure was honest, but few would describe him as a babe. Anyway, Macaulay Culkin, according to the internet, did divorce his parents. Wrote five other Clerihews before coming up with that one. Good luck in the contest. Love, Carolyn
