My Home

America is my home, and I will always believe in her. Is she perfect? Of course not. Healing needs to come to all of her inhabitants. I want her to reach her fullest potential and be healthy and strong. America has several faces and different races. We must stand together as one to live in perfect harmony. Not focusing on the color of our skin, being left or right, male or female, or religious beliefs.Allows healing to take place. What do we all have in common besides being human? We all are the faces of this great nation. If she is broken, she's not beyond repair. I believe in her and all of her inhabitants, I have hope in her and she will prevail.

I love America too, Alexis, but am saddened by some of the racial turmoil. It's very hard to watch repeatedly the videos of George Floyd's death. We do need to unite once more and accept each other's difference. A very meaningful poem, Hon! Hugs, carolyn

Unfortunately, American records seldom listed slaves by name, but almost all "African Americans" were in the USA LONG BEFORE the Trumps, ergo are more American! Aloha! Rico

Hi Carolyn, As an African American woman, I am very saddened by the racial turmoil. Sometimes it seems like a different America among the other races. But it's not; we are all the faces of America. With that being said, I believe in America, and this is my home. I will always hope and pray for her to reach her full potential. She will prevail against all odds. I appreciate you coming to leave such a comment-Alexis

The USA is a great nation for a simple reason: Within its borders, the whole of humanity lives! I have lived for some months in your country, dearest Alexis, and was impressed by her grandeur. During my first visit to Washington DC back in 1972, behind the Capitol building, I saw a statue with the following inscription: " Athena dictates the constitution to America." Being Greek I felt proud that the old ideals of Democracy were reborn in your glorious country! Wonderfully written. Hugs xxx

A fine write my friend but in order to heal we need Jesus. If we turn our backs on Him then we are lost. God Bless, JB
