My Dream Within A Dream

Poetry Contest

- My Dream Within A Dream -

 ~ In the back of my mind, in a filing cabinet, I hold my dreams...
                                     sealed until my death ~ quote by poet


  Dreams are as golden seeds
  a source of reflection
      It is incredibly
      liberating to escape
      from the reality
  Fly with your imagination
  stimulate human growth
     in a safe atmosphere

  A fragrance of a dream
    even in a waking state
  I plant dream seeds for joy
          as far as possible
  The ability to daydream
  My previous life story
  with different approaches
        deep or superficial
  with roots in life situation

  The future of the past
    with airy butterfly wings
  I'm protecting my dreams
  they can disappear in a flash
        My dream is still alive
    deeply rooted in the heart
        Locked in my diary
           you will never find the key

Congratulations, poet friend on your POTD and your top win in this contest with a lovely poem depicting how to sow the seeds of dream for human growth and for joy. What is amazing is that you protect your dreams from disappearing by locking them in your dairy, which you keep under lock and key. A herculean task! Instead of that, during dreams I seek inspiration for quite a number of my poems. Wishing you a dreaming day.

Dear Anne-Lise, Congrats on POTD! It’s so haunting and beautiful, like something Plath might have written. I love how you treat dreams not just as escape, but as seeds! I think there’s something so tender in the way you protect them even as they flutter with butterfly wings.
