My Bloody Valentine

My bloody valentine
Is the love of distrust
The wonder if it's love or just lust
The feeling broken hearted
when seeing we're crushed
The love of beauty
and the ugly of us
The lose of attention
when nothing is mentioned
The battle being fought
without submission
Being totally ignored
when love is the mission
No flowers being bought
or dinner in the kitchen
No gifts being sought
or love being mentioned

Indeed a bloody Valentine! He deserves the name. When love is absent and lust predominates, sex becomes repulsive. Well written dear friend.

That one that hit hardest, the quiet when nothing is mentioned, bringing on a bleeding heart, a little humor as well! Enjoyed

Your poem has a raw, emotional edge to it--almost like a love poem turned inside out. My Bloody Valentine captures the painful contradictions of love, where passion and heartache tangle together. The repetition of contrasts--love vs. distrust, beauty vs. ugliness, attention vs. neglect--builds this slow, aching realization that the relationship is more war than warmth.

I love your poem. I was wondering if you meant to say the 'loss' of attention. Anyway, I enjoyed it.
