Muse

In times of muteness,
I found her grazing in fields
of paper hummingbirds.

Her featherless wings
resembled a ruptured lute,
so I pressed my lips onto hers,
breathing poetry into her soul,
weaving velvet yarn,
shrouding around her muse -
embracing in an autumn scarf.

We bonded like Rumi and Shams,
but such is the tragedy of kismet,
her spirit floated towards Delta Caprcorni,
leaving me behind in a world less poetic -
without a poem to call my own.

Just a little Sunday scribble.

"Her featherless wings resembled a ruptured lute, so I pressed my lips onto hers, breathing poetry into her soul,"..... Lovely lines. Your muse will never die, but with every heartbreak she will feed you with more and more poetic thoughts. Beautiful poem, breathing in the heartache and melancholy of a deserted lover. A piece of art blended in sorrow.

I imaginevt h e colorful hummingbird' delicate, fragile musing along a pair you are. Ilove the reference to Rumi & Shams (Deep "Spiritual"lovers) we are never really abandoned , we hold thoughts in spirit. A pleasurable read, poet prince~

This is such a sad, evocative and soulfully moving poem really on your muse and setting her free amidst the soul to soul poetry weaving that inspired both you and her. Somethings dont last, for various reasons in this world, but im sure poetry within you will always live on and will thrive, as you are the silent one who scribbles poems that are soulful, and ones that makes poets feel so very deeply! Kismet is as such and can be cruel, but your poetry will always be worthy of accolades! Pleasure reading you always! Sending you light today and always

Silent One, you revived your muse and set her free, yet your poetic gift remains. You have become the muse for others who you continue to revive and inspire with your golden words. I, for one, am sustained by your brilliance. A great poem should touch the soul of all who read it and that makes a difference in their world. Your friend in poetry, Jan.

Silent One, Oh, just like the moment a muse becomes, soft, strange, and drifting upward. I like how you let the intimacy stay fragile, handmade, before kismet snaps the thread. Yes, the ending with that hollow space, artists know all too well the room still warm, the inspiration gone. Blessings, Daniel

Finding a muse in "fields of paper hummingbirds" and "weaving velvet yarn". Great imagery. Your muse explores themes of inspiration, loss, and the ephemeral nature of love and creativity. Always a great poet.

Wonderful scribble! Many, who are not, would be overjoyed if so blessed with a pen and creative mind brilliant as yours. Sadness...happiness -- what the heck, long as you keep producing such splendid poetry it is worth the push/pull of diametrically opposed emotions. It's all good!

Dear Silent One, it’s been a while since I’ve had the pleasure of crossing poetic paths with you. The fickleness of love and muse can leave one waiting and wondering and longing.. wistful in a lingering during absences of both, wishing for their return. The melancholy yet tender tone of your poem moves me deeply. It’s great to see you my poet friend. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
