Mother's Day

It was May and Mother's day. I gazed at the gilded frame holding your painting mom. Though you are miles and miles away but I could feel you so close to my heart. The painting of you in the beautiful rose garden and open blue sky brought memories. I placed the frame in front of me and touched your lovely face. I felt I was within the gilded frame sitting beside you in the rose garden catching the butterflies some yellow and some blue. You didn't notice but I quietly put my head on your shoulder and smiled. I was hardly attracted to the fragrance of the roses around, but the fragrance of your love was mesmerising. The loose hair strands falling on your face bothered me and I slowly tried to place them behind your ears. You were quiet and it was me who kept on talking to you. I heard the knock at my door and I had to be out of the frame. Mom I enjoyed being with you. It was my daughter who had come to wish me a happy Mother's day. Now she too wants a painting of me in a rose garden that she could keep. May 9, 2016.
