Mother Moon

Moon, well rounded,
far more approachable
directly than the sun,
a severe Father – melting
with grading glare.

But your gentle
mother nature, willing to
overlook, hide and protect, to love
in shadows as well as light –

Able to ponder and choose
my best stars for safe distance,
having found less glitter often
more appealing, more revealing
than any impatient Truth.

Thank you, Brandy; Mother was a good mother. Father was good also -- they were both loving in their own ways. Father, Mother, Son Principals of Creation.

Hello Joseph, Congrats on POTD; I love how you touch on our deep human need for psychological safety before we can truly be honest with ourselves. We live in a culture obsessed with immediate answers, high visibility, and flashy certainty. Yet, real insight rarely arrives under a spotlight. Beautiful and reflective work, Joseph. Blessings, Daniel

Hi Karen, the moon our Mother Principle, more emotionally accessible, while the sun, our Father Principal, powerful will -- when combined, they are perfect.

Love your comparison of the moon to a mother, more approachable, gentle, loving alike in adversity and splendor, not always showy, but occasionally hiding from world's glare and above everything gentle. Lovely poem. Congratulations Joe on your POTD honor

Iv never thought of the moon that way, but now , if ever I see the moon full and smiling, I will think of this poem dear Jo. Its amazing how in nature we find so much we can resonate with and compare to our every day life experiences. I love the ending here and also how youv mentioned the sun as the father ~ less approachable. Moon the gentle nurturer Beautifully written and delivered! A fave for me Pleasure reading Sending you light always

I like the comparison b/t the moon and the sun, Joe... Sun is certainly too harsh for most: "A poison could get boint," as they say in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Queens, NYC. lol.

Gosh wow! How celestially striking and moving this poem is, Joe! I absolutely love how you've shown the sun as a glaring father and the moon with her motherly warmth.. certainly, she is forgiving and holds our secrets close, letting our souls feel soothe in the dark.. "having found less glitter often more appealing, more revealing than any impatient Truth." Hmm that's very thought-provoking and deep! Always such wisdom in your words! Loved reading this, sending poetic warmth and light 🧚🍂💫🌙
