Monet's water lilies
from his own garden
in Giverny, France
a garden sloping gently
down to a river
his laid out gardens
his water pond with
the floating lilies
and blue Japanese bridge
became his favorite subjects
loving the interplay of water
sunlight and plants
always a changing inspiration
with abstract swirls, strokes
nothing ever contrived
as if illuminated with light
shadows became blended
atmospheric strokes melting
with flowing water, drifting leaves
creating reflections
of Monet's muse
