I look into the mirror
Staring back at me I see
A woman full of faults and flaws
No creamy skin or graceful thighs
Simply a reflection of one who believes
I look into the mirror
And what do you imagine I see
There in the glass, gaping and gawking
There is a woman who knows she isn’t
Beautiful, supple or elegant…without perfection
I look into the mirror
There is a woman who lives
As if she has only a heart to give
Back to the world who holds her up
As someone who has faith, hope and love
I look into the mirror
Watching me turn about
There is a woman in the shadows
Surrounded by a heavenly light, a prayer
Breathing in whispers of joy and compassion
I look into the mirror
Exposing all my worst defects
There is a piece of my heart on display
Reaching out to the One who shares His grace
And reminds me that I am someone…
Who is loved, lovely, loving
Created in the image of God
Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
