Oh wow, dear Bill, this is such an insightful and deep senryu which evokes many reflections of thoughts.. It can be interpreted in many ways.. When we tend to trust on a 'mirage' of possibilities, often getting dependent on the illusions of something that might soothe our worries and difficulties.. But that ray of hope often seems to be jumping away from us.. I really loved reading this! Brilliantly done!

Thank you for your visits and comment, Hiya. They're many applications in these words; yours is very true. Looking into the future can create many mirages, we often see only what we want to see. Sometimes the visions are true and dreams spring from them. Smiles ~ Blessings, my friend. Bill

In moments of desperation our mind is apt to play tricks on us, Bill. Good senryu, and the accompanying visual is very fitting. ~ regards // paul

Nice one Bill, I think it is not just the desert where we can see a mirage, it can happen in different aspects of life.. I really like how you use different themes for this short form.. hope you are well my friend.

I've been struggling a bit, too much to do and only 24 hours in my days. I need about 3 or 4 more or need to adjust what I expect to get done every day. Just tired a lot now days, I need to slow down a bit. Thanks for caring, my friend. Have a good day! Bill

An insightful Senryu into Edwards contest choices, Bill. There's cactuses on our island named Ka'u Desert but its minus the sand, all on our beaches. They are clumps of dry grass between the cactuses. The clumps are opaque green but the outstretched leaves are dry but they hang together and like the cactuses, there's an inner source that maintain the outlay of the land. The desert is mostly ignored by the tourist. Btw, sandy beaches DO get very hot to those unsuspected tourist. Aloha, William

Good job, Bill your in this Senryu the way you described the mirage caused by the extremely hot sand made me feel like my throat was very dry and in need of water. Oh, look! There's an oasis, a place with water! I like the picture as well

Thanks, my friend, I really like it when I found the picture of a mirage ... although it looks like an oasis. Thanks for the comments, Bill
