July's sultry magic ...
a swollen, clear-sky eve
I rake fingertips through the Milky Way
rivulets trailing like ribbon candy
my other hand's fingers weave your hair
as it fans out like Ophelia’s on
the star-mirrored lake’s surface
I pull your face gently towards mine
savoring your lips like supple, juicy nips
of a freshly-picked strawberry
but upside-down, leaning over you
your sugary tongue
melting in my mouth -
a pas de deux of luscious portions
you deepen the kiss
eyes open
and I feel you giggle inside
pulling me down into the cool depths
as we swim the sea of suns -
joined in tender delirium ...
adrift.
