Message For Peace

Boom ....boom....boom Guns roar, bombs blast, causing Death, deformity and destruction Leading to distress and doom Streets reek with the smell of newly shed blood Dead bodies pile, all around is carnage Dark clouds hang on the horizon Under one name or the other, violence is concocted Frivolous ideologies kill lives of innocents With the world turned into a battlefield, We are besieged by terror's sting. We need an escape from this inferno Pure harmony is what the world longs Let no cannons roar, let no rebellion shriek Let no wounded soldier fall down and die Let no woman become a widow, no child- an orphan Let no drop of blood spill on the cobalt streets Paint the canvas in colors of love and kindness Strive to build a land of peace Peace is an energy field much more potent than a battlefield Is peace merely the absence of war? No, it is a tranquil feeling in the breast The absence of fear, an all encompassing aura of safety The annihilation of prejudices and a tight knot of oneness It is being in peace with oneself and others! Combined efforts alone can subdue The formidable enemy of hatred and rebellion United shall we stay to get all wrongs right And muster strength to catch the bull by its horns To let the doves of peace take on wings! Hope this calming dream and lovely fancy Of mine shall no more remain a wild fantasy

Sister Valsa. U do the vitalbthing: connect individual heart & change for needed Peace in the world. I don't HV a TV. Even if I did. The horrors civil wars in India, USA, & invasions if Vietnam, Iraq (decades long) ought to be a warning we humans love (testing) weapons in humans more than peace. 'Nationalusts' love this "test"

We who so fervently desire peace should realize that Mr. Putin wants piece too -- a piece of Ukraine, a piece of Poland, a piece of Latvia, a piece of Estonia... Faith and Strength, Gershon

Valsa, you've written a really poignant poem. Finding common ground that brings the world together would empower us to peacefully coexist, and it is up to everyone else to do so.

"We are besieged by terror's sting." How true your words are, Valsa. I want to peace your dream of for everyone. Life is too short for all of this hate and chaos. There is too much soulful pain manifesting into hate, war, and terrorism. God help us, lest our world be destroyed. Good luck in the contest, my friend. Bill

Unfortunately, the god of Christians, Muslims, and Jews set precedents which men try to imitate! I don't know how anyone can look at the devastation in Ukraine and feel they have made this world a better place for people to live, but it seems not many people share my view! Well said, Valsa!

Power, land grabbing, greed and lack of respect for others seems to push peace further away. It's up to us all to build bridges that brings us closer together so that we can live in peace and harmony. Good luck in the contest Valsa. Tom

Great poem. I'm glad you did not mention Russia and Ukraine. There are more wars scattered around the world. Your poem is excellent. Best for a win.
