Memories of the Sea - Repost
One night I lay awake listening to the sea
The sound of pounding surf on rocky shore
Drifting, dreaming, to another time and place
As if remembering a life lived long before
It was a time of languor, of peace and harmony
There was no knowledge of crawling on the sand
No fear of tomorrow or the end of days
There was nothing to know, to understand
Millenniums have come and passed away
Simple cells have become creatures of all kinds
Some walk upright in sun burnt deserts far away
No memory of the vast oceans in their minds
Now sometimes, when I am walking near the sea
I find it calling to some ancient, hidden part of me
For the "Screwed" contest
N/A in a previous contest.
