Sonnet
Fourteen lines 10 syllables per line with a typical... abab cdcd efef gg rhyming scheme.
My heart still feels those times spent in the warmth
of each other's arms gazing at the stars.
For we'd sit close, choose which star was true north,
and plot the rise of Jupiter and Mars.
Our hearts guided imagination's brush,
creating constellations in the sky.
And we would whisper, enjoying the hush,
pierced by the screams of an owl nearby.
On your passing, I too wanted to die,
my heart was torn into tiny pieces.
And even now, under a starry sky,
my anxiety level increases.
Compared to dreams, my memories are real,
for I recall how each one made me feel.
