Memorials

One scene of one loss Ever seen this cross? Look aside, kindly gaze as you ride in the haze of highways and byways amid the fumes of rushing hours Old memorials, forgotten tributes, circles of leaf and flower Down a two-lane country road stands one lone, tiny tower Flashing bright in high beams, watch it glimmer and glower Pounded down in green grass Sacred ground The years pass still yet it glares his lone last rite Not a soul dare trespass this site Lost all he had God tell me why His grieving dad now passes by Oh my son The fight rages on

Yes! Tim, I have seen so many of these crosses - Heartbreaking! Yet - drunk driving is still tolerated. How can this be? It must be stopped. I pray this is not your cross, but if it is, then my prayers are with you. This is a extremely powerful message in perfect concrete form. Much love, Lainie

Dear Tim...if this comes from personal experience, as Donna indicated, I'm so very sorry to hear it. I am not sure how I missed this poignant and heartfelt poem, but it is well worthy of each of us to read, re-read over and over as a thoughtful reminder. Well written and heart touching. Love, Carrie

Tim, I know this time of year is difficult. Giving you congratulations seems strange, as such sadness occurred for your inspiration. Still, I'm happy to see that you are recognized for your great work. Hugs, Donna

This madness on the highways is still rampant, Tim, but u have expressed this in your tribute poem.. One of my sons had a classmate that was killed on Memorial Day by a drunk driver and it affected the entire graduating class.. very sad .. your words have given all food for thought ... keep on writing ... and sharing ....
