Lust and Shame

By Debbie Guzzi & Robin Gass

He was kind, he was my friend, think again.
As to a fathers open arms, we ran.
A child’s trust flows like sand, shatters like glass.
Thus, exposing the naked lust of man.

As to a fathers open arms, we ran.
This child’s heart knew only of the good.
Thus exposing the naked lust of man.
Confused, her trust lay splintered where she stood.

This child's heart knew only of the good.
Yet naked her friend’s father eyes meet hers.
Confused, her trust lay splintered where she stood.
an innocent destroyed, for she felt cursed.

Yet naked her friend’s father’s eyes meet hers.
Friendship slain by a fathers twisted deed
an innocent destroyed, for she felt cursed.
As in her mind now grows, this vile scene.

A **** at five, so shamed, so deflowered
A child’s trust flows like sand, shatters like glass.
No love or lovers now her soul devoured..
He was kind, he was my friend, think again.

Powerful way to convey how young lives are shattered through abuse. This happens far too often. So sad. Thank you using your creativity to forward an important message. Thank you for your kind comments. Keep on writing! Karen

Total betrayal of trust. How many young people go through life scarred by these monsters that pretend to be a friend? Powerful writing by you two. Love, Lainie

Robin, thank you for your comment. I have only had time to read this poem, but I certainly am looking forward to more !! I wanted to comment on this one because, it gave me chills, it's so sad. I know someone who, unfortunately, had the experience. It broke my heart, when I found out. You have spoken for those who have had to deal with such a terrible situation. Too bad we need to hear this, but it's very important that we listen. Thanks so much. The ending line, says it all.

Powerful write, Robin and Deborah! How sad that this type of encounter "deflowers" so many young lives. You touched my heart with this write. I am still visiting family out of town, but had to stop by and see what you were up to. Glad I did! Love, Carolyn

Sad and heartfelt poem Robin and Deborah, what doe's a father see when he looks at his daughter in this way? They should be named and shamed and be man enough to expect the unexpected. I know what i would do! Excellent piece girls >> James

Stark, poignant write from you two. I don't believe there is any such thing as a "slut at five". I know about child abuse and the word in the heart of my inner child feels like a slap, and a further violation of the child. I also know that it is possible to heal the shame and never be a victim again ... smile ... May all abused children find healing and peace.

Sad story, no glory, but you can end this gory story. Back out of this cycle of curse, put it in reverse, there's love in your heart, that's your brand new start, forgive and move on, and the curse will too, the monster will receive his sow! Please go! God's love will mend even the sod's bend. Lovingly, Sincerely, John Moses Freeman.
