Love's Rain

After what seemed a forever trudge through this hostile, barren, unforgiving vapid expanse, I took pause and sought shade from the unrelenting flame of disconnection that the environs of my isolation afforded. A vicarious air seemed to always haunt me with ramblings of bygone failure and loss. My thirst found no escape. My heart found no shadow. As hope seeped slowly from my soul, delusional thoughts began their inevitable pervasive search for reality. From what could only be conceived in a dream, I began to feel an aqueous vapor surrounding me. In this providential state, my lips tasted the life giving softness of love's rain bringing revival and rewarding need with renewal. I bathed in this shower. It cleansed me of the dust of dissolution. As its intensity subsided, I was rewarded again with its petrichor of pleasurable hope. I rose in peace and began anew as life with purpose must claim...
