Lost In a Dream

I meander past a rippling stream my hair blowing in the wild wind. Was that my name being called? Did it sigh, in the tangled trees? I swirl, twirl to bird sounds, my name but an echo- MOTHER where are you? Wait! Wait, wait for me mother! But only silence sighs in the trees. I am running, searching, weeping- Waking in a hospital bed lost in a sea of pain, gasping, struggling to breathe. Moaning- asking how long, how long was I lost in this dream? ___________________________ January 8, 2020 Poetry/Free Verse/Lost in a Dream Copyright Protected ID, 20-1215-010-03 All Rights Reserve, 2020, Constance La France Submitted to the contest, Strand Select 7 sponsor, Brian Strand Honorable Mention

Michael, thanks for visiting my poem and the congratulations, my poem is a memory of a dream I recalled after a near death experience so I guess it was a nightmare, but I did hear mother calling my name !
