Living Waters
He holds the pitcher very high
As liquid pours into the bowl.
With the baby’s parents standing by
The pastor has a starring role.
Preparing to baptize their son,
He tells of God’s abiding love.
He picks the sweet child up when done
And asks for blessings from above.
The parents are gazing on with pride.
Their happiness with us they share.
Not once has their tiny infant cried
As our pastor gives him back with care.
Though it was not the child’s decision,
This sprinkle of the Holy Bath,
We parishioners pray that his baptism
Will start him on a righteous path.
