About Lily of the Valley Plants
Lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis) is a woodland flowering plant with sweetly scented, pendent, bell-shaped white flowers borne in sprays in spring. Lily of the valley plants produces adorable flowers with a strong scent that sends a pleasant aroma throughout your yard. With varieties that grow to be only around 6 to 8 inches tall, lily of the valley flowers looks right at home in spring gardens or planted underneath trees and shrubs. You can also use lily of the valley plants as borders along walkways and paths to create an enchanting landscape. Some gardeners claim weevils are also snacking on their lily of the valley plants, but their appearance is usually brief and does not hurt the plant. The most common and prevalent of the pests are snails and slugs. These gastropods will do quite a bit of damage to the foliage, creating ragged holes in the leaves.

Beneath trees shade and fluttering leaves, Wedding bell petals of white, Ring, as the summer breeze races away. Perfection, with their head's bent down Of deeds sweetly scented. Down the green slide, Mr. Snout Beetle slides For a taste of its sap. Orange-red berries appear later in the fall To add to its alluring mystery. 3/27/2022
