Like Lilies of the Field
In my final dimmest light, I will die
To disappear from the time I have spent
No perception of should have been, or why
As I learned to look back without lament
From first recollections to tomorrow
Knowledge instilled insight into truths found
And allowed my thoughts to outlive sorrow
Though the depth of my pains was so profound
I still claim the days that have come and gone
As they vanish with horizon's sunsets
To drift away as the nights fade to dawn
I can see my world pass without regrets
A philosophy my grave won't let in
Shadowed illusions of what could have been
