Like All Art

An artist who does not practice their art, May have a short shelf life, Going unnoticed by the many. So, it is with conversation as an art, Giving those out of practice a lonely and troubled life, As they too go unnoticed by the many. It is wise to make conversation your number one art, If you want some excitement in your life, And to be noticed by the many. Practice and age can improve most art, So, don't expect too much in early life, Or you will lose your place with the many. Look to those skilled in the art, And how it has improved their life, They even get to choose how many. Now look for those who gave up their art, And closed their door on life, You will not find them talking to many. The subject matter may be key in how well others perceive your art, So, don't downplay your part in life, When talking to any of the many.

Thank you Barry. Conversation is something that takes effort time and practice. Some put it in the too hard basket. i find conversation with some like pulling teeth but think the reward is worth it. I was In Toastmasters and Club President for a while and got my children interested. To witness someone find their voice is special. Regards David

Some of us who live alone receive many emails but not enough phone calls. You have a knack for sending a message that should be heard by many, David. I will be "following" your poetry and hope you build the audience you deserve here. What a talent you have for writing and for choosing topics that are important to people. Best wishes, Carolyn

I was walking past a bus stop the other week. I caught they eye of a gentleman who look slightly rough with tatoos. I smiled and he spoke 'Thats two of us who can still smile. We had a 2 - 4 min conversation around subject of people not smiling or talking to each other. It made both our days I am sure. Sometimes a smile or a simple hello from someone can lift spirits. Really appreciate your comments. Very best regards David in NZ
