Life Spent Alone Along the Shores of Pain
Resting on pebbles that surface the shore,
awaiting the moment when I’m rescued-
The gentle tides whisper words I adore,
though I am still in a sorrowful mood.
Has this life been spent so cold and alone?
Maybe for years I’ve been much forsaken.
The ripples in the water turned to stone
as the rays of my journey were taken.
Abandoned with ease was I in my youth,
death has lingered in my heartbroken past.
So now I sit upon the shores of truth
praying the cascading waters do last.
I’m a withering boat craving the sea-
living on dry land with lonely debris.
