Letter To My Mother

Dear Mommy, where are you. I miss you, I wish you were here. What is your family like, do I have brothers and sisters. Today is my birthday, I am four. Do you remember, today I am four. Dear Mom, today I graduate from high school, wish you could see me in my cap and gown. I now have a fellow, wish you could meet him. Today is my wedding day, you should be here with me. I have a seat just for you, missing in body present in spirit. Dear Mother, where have the years gone. You have missed being here as I grow up, where did the time go. Now I have found you, I will never let you go. Life has been hard, dad died before I was born. Your life turned into hell as you gave me away, I am sorry if I ever judged you. We have years to make up for, laughs and hugs everyday.

Touching write. Some times in the morning I have watched ancestry.com and heard such horrific stories of adopted adults trying to find their genetic family. It takes such courage to reach out and attempt to build that connection so many years later. Brave souls.

Oh Paula, I am blubbering like a baby. What an amazing poem. I just sat for a few minutes tryin g to think what to write to praise you for this beautiful poem. Very unlike me, I am lost for words.
