Let Me Love You
If I weren't afraid, I'd steal the stars
to gather their lively brilliance;
while my heart cuddles your laughter
and dives into your rosette blushes
reflecting spring’s twilight in your eyes:
a dream that they would soon be mine
before the last vestige of evening dims.
O trying to be brave, I'd chain the moon
then keep it shining as dawn explodes,
as the fragrance of love covers us
wafting like ambrosial dew by your side:
then let me reach out where glances meet
until this breath climbs for a hum
to say, 'I'll warm you through all nights.'
