Oh my, this is incredible, Joseph! I love the way you create this historical image, letting us see how she was affected by the taunts and hate. A sad chapter of our nation's history and a particularly good read on "International Women's Day." Wonderfully written, Joseph. Hugs, Carolyn

Poor little sweetheart. So young to be hated for something she didn't do. I remember those days. I'm sure she was permanently marked by them. Scary for all concerned. Good one Joseph God Bless, JB

So so sad, America had its problems almost as much as South Africa, I hated Apartheid but Racism unfortunately still exists all over the world - let us all pray it ends I love your Double Tetractys and so happy you won, congrats my friend Blessings, and hugs, Jennifer.

WoW! Joseph, What a moving and powerful narrative based off of the painting. You wrote about what young Ruby Bridges encountered in the 1960s. Unfortunately, racism still rears its ugly head in 2021. Well done. Best wishes in the contest. PS, I chose the same painting. Have a great day:-) Alexis

"The crowd taunted her with hateful words" So many have no respect at all. Your thoughts wrap gently around me and my heart. This is sad and tender, all at the same time. ~ Brandy
