Lemon Pie In September

Lemon Pie in September 

Born in September my husband’s mother
In the middle of the wheat harvest
Beneath sapphire blue autumn skies
While she loved chocolate
Lemon pie stole her heart and mine
Each year I made a birthday lemon pie for her
In September I still make a lemon pie to remember.

Dedicated to my mother-in-law Marcelle.

The lemon pie in September has become a vibrant symbol of our relationship and I remember her every time I make this delicious pie that both of us loved. Seems one of my daughter-in-laws shares the same love of lemon pie so the tradition continues.
