Written for Charles Messina's Sonnet Ku Ku poetry contest.

To write a sonnet and use verses from it to create a haiku and monoku.

This is an English Sonnet with 10 syllables per line.

Verses used for the two kus' are highlighted in bold.

From the moment I heard about your myth, I searched for the legend of your soft lips. I wandered like a bewildered wordsmith, confused if such elegance did exist. I became a pilgrim of devotion, roaming paths to oceans for just one glimpse. Struggling to express this rare emotion, I kept hope you would end my unloved jinx. Upon a balcony facing the shore, I saw a celestial sight of patience. Before I could find the way to your door, I became lost in a maze of silence. Timid tongue was stubborn with resistance, as you disappeared into the distance. bewildered wordsmith express this rare emotion end my unloved jinx a celestial sight of patience - legend of your soft lips did exist

A more unconventional sonnet but it's very cool how you came up with the ku and monoku. I love the idea of someone with legendary lips!

Ugh! I hate unloved jinxes. Well, I can't argue for the allure of lush lips. Interesting three in one form. Hope your weekend is awesome

Oh my, this is such a heartfelt and emotive poem! You've very creative imageries here along with the descriptions of a love that is like a whimsical mystery and unveils myriad shades. When one is truly fascinated & in bewilderment of the thought of his/her beloved being a an elegant zephyr.. But in the end, all the magick & mystique proves to be true.. "I became a pilgrim of devotion, roaming paths to oceans for just one glimpse" And he finds that glimpse! This poem is truly so beautiful to read

oh, Silent One, this is a breathtaking and beautifully constructed, romantic sonnet. The Haiku and Monoku at the end are perfect additions. You wow me with your majestic poetic skills. The words 'timid tongue' said so much. How often I've done that in the past. And 'unloved jinx' was priceless and well played. Have a great day. best wishes with the contest! Sara
