Left-Handed Lament

Author's note: A bit of tongue in cheek fun here. Though I am ambidextrous in most things, my husband says my thinking "is very much left-handed." My response was, "Since you are right handed, your accusation must mean 'able to get to the point without using an inordinate amount of utterly unnecessary words.'" -.-

My paper is always turned so people don't judge; because yes if it's vertical my work will be smudged. With the other I've tried to write; but man it just doesn't look right. When I bat on that side the ump runs to hide. I can't even start on that foot, my balance pretty much kaput. And do not get me started on that 'right-handed thinking;' to grasp that logic's like being on a ship that is sinking! So over the decades I've often had to interject, that being left-handed is the obvious 'correct.'

I am lefty in a right handed world. I can use both hands well. Right handed people will never understand and appreciate being a lefty. Thanks for the laugh.

Great writing, FJ ... I love the rhyming in this poem ... I'm right-handed, but sometimes, without thinking about it, I find myself using my left for things like eating ... It just feels right, I guess :)

the perfect morning poem...such a delightful path your quill has given us...love the juxtaposition of humor and moments when the brain has to put it in reverse and do that line again
