Leaves Like Fragile Birds
in the cemetery there is a deep hush
the scene before me is green and lush
today, God has used his best sky paintbrush
oh, listen to the sweet song of a thrush
I hear other birds answer with a low mutter
and little chipmunks dash between the headstone clutter
and baby squirrels are playing and make a squeaky utter
and leaves fly away like fragile birds that flutter
