There is a color that I love a lot -
a luscious mix it is of red and blue.
Artists know to add at least a dot
of white, producing less a purplish hue.
Many blooms with this color I could name:
Wisteria or lilac, and of course
lavender itself – poets’ field of fame.
How lovely are the blossoms of that source.
I’ve seen a girl with eyes of lavender.
So pretty were her dress, jewels and shoes
in lavender! She could well have under
a spell of magic any guy she’d choose.
I think it would be great to be a girl
named Lavender, with sweetness to unfurl.
