Lately I'Ve Been Feeling Like:

A piano being played
A donkey chasing carrots
A suitor turned suitless
A wise man turned fool

I think you cannot decide
I think you refuse to decide
I think I thought I knew
I think I think too much

About only you
About only will you
About only won’t you
About only maybe

So weary of maybe
So weary of won’t you
So weary of will you
So weary of about you

Life is short
Life is fragile
Life is precious
Life goes on…

I'm guilty of thinking too much, don't you wish there was an off switch some days? : ) Yes, life is precious and short, what is meant to be will be Tim, let's make a pact and both agree not to think too much okay. Terrific write! Hugs

That first line captures so much in so many layers. Great tone this poem creates. Good to read you again, Tim: I have missed being around. Will share a poem I wrote about Ireland after my first visit there. It is a magical place and a land of poets. SuZ

There is much more to this poem than first meets the eye.......I think some of these feelings are not just your poetic imagination having fun, but perhaps reflecting something more real, and needing to know where you stand. I hope you get the answers you are hoping for......and yes.....life is short, fragile, and precious..... I hope she recognizes it the same as you! :) Best wishes my friend!

I couldn't have said it better myself. I love the piano and carrot line. Everyday I wake, I need to live in the now, and not waste my time on weary feelings. My life is to precious. Tim, this is a nice one. I'm happy for you. Don't ever be someones fool. I know how it feels to have your mind only on one person. this reminds me of a song called... "I got my mind set on you." by George Harrison. ps... thank you for supporting my contest... always & forever The Poet Destroyer
