Labyrinth

I discovered an unexpected gift on the bluff above the sea: smooth stones line a labyrinth, someone’s loving labor. I let the path take me on a peaceful pilgrimage, wend and weave my way; my mind wanders. I give myself to the labyrinth, trusting that, eventually, the stones will lead me to the center if I just let it happen. 7/26/2017 N/A in contest End July Premiere Contest, finalized 7/28/2017 entered in contest A poem I wrote and sent drifting Sponsored by Broken Wings

A bit like life, we must all move forward and give ourselves, to reach the goal. A fine piece, Agnes, thought provoking. Viv x

Agnes, totally unrelated to this poem, but on another poetry forum I am a member of, someone quoted a poem of yours (with your name and all, don't worry) and I felt so proud, not only because I know you, but also because it was a wonderful poem. Just like this one. (And no, I am not leaving, I only need a break)

Interesting stuff, Agnes. Whilst clearly influenced by your discovery, there's much to be said here that could apply to life... we all navigate those labyrinthine paths, never knowing quite where we'll end up. Well done! Regards, John.

A most compelling read! I think this is one of your very best poems, Agnes...and one of the best poems I have read in quite a while - it really is that good! To me it could just as easily be an allegory as a real event...or, indeed, a mixture of both; it certainly seems to contain a hidden meaning. A really excellent poem! My very best regards as always, Agnes. :) john

I do love a labyrinth. My sister once mowed one in her yard; no one noticed. It was interesting though. Well penned, Agnes.

Thanks, Jan. The labyrinth I found was actually commissioned and not built by some random person, but poetic liberty, right?
