Knowing That One Is a Writer
One knows that
he or she is a writer,
simply by the act –
writing even when
nothing to say –
words searching for
a subject, a feeling
to emote: our nature
a reservoir
of the seen
and unseen –
we surface through depths
of ink; it is our sea upon
which we float or sink –
the writer's indelible
drink....
