They were hated as if they were prone to rob or steal. In the bible I remember that the tax collectors got a raw deal They really were just doing their job, it could be debated. As if they were prone to rob or steal, they were hated. Now this is where Kismet kicked in, truly like it was fate. Maybe this is why Jesus became my very good mate. Jesus treated them well, forgave what others called sin. Truly like it was fate, now this is where Kismet kicked in. Through no plan, I became a tax collector for the duration. And worked many years for the department of taxation. I was liked and luckily for me, no discrimination ever began. I became a tax collector for the duration, through no plan. Some were morose, losing all their money on bets. I was helping them to find ways to pay overdue tax debts. Many people owed much more than the sum of their gross Losing all their money on bets, some were morose. Kismet, they say is life’s plan, set down for what is going to be. That’s why I feel this job was deemed to me, it’s my destiny. Assisting those who had big debts and helping all I can. Set down for what is going to be, kismet they say is life’s plan. People are basically good, to some, debt becomes misery. This job I decided through providence, was deemed to me. To help people out of the strife they are in, as much as I could. To some debt becomes misery, people are basically good.

As I learn from your reply to the comment of Constance, I understand that this is a real story. If there is humaneness within, any job can be made pleasant. When people know that we are there to help and not to harm them, they will respect authority. You are one with 'the milk of human kindness' in you. Congratulations SV on your top win.

Thanks so much Constance. This is one of the few stories I wrote that is not fiction, its true. I was a tax collector until I retired, and I loved the job. Its amazing how receptive people are when you let them know you are there to help not persecute. I love your contests. They give the writer freedom to be creative without counting syllables or words if they choose not to. Thankyou so very much..

Yes it does speak volumes. To speak of ones self is .... I gather Kismet is karma. I like the way you discribe Provedence now that is fate uninvited.

Thank you for your comment TS. Yes I guess there could have been times I might have described my job as my nemesis, but I didn't see it as Tax Collecting (although it was) I saw it as helping people that got themselves in a bind. Funny about problems. If its a predicament that you got yourself in, you can find a way to get yourself out.
