Kaleidoscope Heart

KALEIDOSCOPE HEART Kaleidoscope heart, is oh! so treacherous and fickle you reap what you sow, when you thrust in the sickle. Never trust in a heart that bleeds emerald green with envious thoughts, and evil hatred unseen. Beware of fire red heart, burning hot to the touch unrestrained in desire, yielding easily to strange lust. A man of yellow heart, lives in fear and constant dread no courage found in time of need, terror makes his bed. A heart of indigo blue, sees life in tones so grey and dreary surrounded by God's pure love, but not discerned so clearly. Kaleidoscope heart, like a horse, unbridled and wild needs to be broken, to be tamed, training it to be mild. December 20,2015 Received HM in Theme #7 color contest judged 2/16/2016

I enjoyed this piece...I share different thoughts on the ending though...I prefer terms such as nurturing, supporting, & guiding when it comes to children vs training...& don't care for the thought of breaking spirits to mold and change a heart into someone else's definition of how they should be...have you watched the Disney movie Spirit? I highly recommend it for both children and adult audiences...best wishes, John

I get your point, I'm glad you mentioned it, I was not implying that a child's spirit need to be broken, although looking back and rereading it I will adjust it I never meant to give that impression, although now I can see it needs to be reworked thanks for your honesty!

they're all works in progress! i take the view that a poem is never truly finished, and i often go back to a poem weeks, months, even years later and alter a word or line!
