Just Thinking
Most men seem to be
surface dwellers;
their sun on the outside
carrying night within.
Most men appear in fields
of blossoms—aware of roots
more steady
above the mystery:
Oh, they probe biology
and mechanics—have dug
and sampled, put a lens to
creation: yet, no further from
death seem we; leaving this life
with only one less veil.
(I have not met all men,
though thousands and I
have shared wine or word;
but I have read books revered
by masses...and all have paled
next to the Light of God)
