I was dreaming that I was running fast all around,
feral, wild, untamed- and I ran like a hunting hound.
Then, I felt changes in my bed and a sound,
so, I lifted my head from my soft grey mound.
And crawled on the bed and with my mom clowned,
she was sleeping ~ so I prowled my play mice 'round.
On my mom's lips and nose kisses I have drowned,
well, at least for me she is my mother crowned.
I see her eyes flutter ... she stirs and I bound,
MEOW! Are you going to sleep all day I frowned.
So into her ear I make a loud purr sound,
I am forced to stand on her chest and pound.
Get up and make tea ... my arms hold her 'round ,
Then, she hugs me close and kisses me all around.
Mom walks towards the kitchen- so I leap and bound,
I zoom past sliding on the wood floor to astound.
After breakfast I go to my tattered scratching post round,
the living room of our home has become my playground.
I run southbound and then 'round and 'round and 'round,
sorry about the vase I meow- I was messing around.
