    Journal, Junk, Jagged Words Contest

"Nothing haunts us like the junk we didn't buy." Anonymous "I should keep this," I always say "I might need it some other day" Where I put it, there it will stay That's just my way That's just my way Stockpile of junk is what it's called Trinkets but nothing that has crawled All over the house, they are sprawled Hubby appalled Hubby appalled At first, it was just a junk drawer Until my 'things' fell to the floor "I'll stop." I promised and I swore I still want more I still want more It's a collection of clutter "Yes, but they're all mine." I sputter Even that old broken shutter And golf putter And golf putter I've no room to walk in my house Not space enough for a lil' mouse Couldn't find my favorite blouse Mislaid my spouse Mislaid my spouse

Hmmm… maybe that’s why I no longer have a husband. Life is simpler without one. Thank you, Sam.

Hoarding really is a psychological disease Lin, I agree most of them would rather mislay a spouse than their worthless tat, A really intelligent and well thought out poem, tongue and cheek perhaps, but one with some real home truths, an excellent piece, cheers David

I watched that show once and never again. It’s terribly sad that people value so many useless things. Thanks for your comments, David.

This is funny Lin - there's a great feeling when something you need is in your stockpile though. I only tend to ditch stuff if I move house and then that's a great feeling taking stuff that was behind stuff to the tip and giving you cupboard space again :)

Thanks for seeing the humor in this one, Dilly. I was bored one day during hibernation in pandemic days and cleared out lots of things. Didn’t miss them.

My hubby is the one who accumulates too much stuff, you should see how many Amazon boxes are in our living room! Love your last line too-

I used to hold on to things but moving is a cure for that. Thanks, Michelle.
