Joy Breeds Hope As my eyes look up to bright sunny skies And I view soft shape shifting clouds float by I feel hope instilled through my joyful eyes. I take a deep breath, let out a long sigh. Look at the trees how they've weathered the storms They remain steadfast with beauty so fair With outreaching limbs share shade in their forms; Gifts for all creatures who breathe their fresh air. We have been blest with this beautiful Earth. Let kindness prevail in me and in you. Souls need teaching from the on-set of birth To respect others in all that they do. Harmony dwells with new hope in God's love As we connect Earth with heaven above. 2-1-22 Inspirational Christian Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Regina McIntosh Joy, Hope and kindness Poetry Contest~First Place~ Sponsored by: Angela Tune Kung Hei Fat Choy!: “Congratulations and may you be prosperous”. The themes of hope and belief underpin many of your poems Connie. This is certainly no different. It's a great read. Everything in nature has its own purpose and sometimes we humans take things for granted if it doesn't fit with our own short term needs. Mankind can learn so much from nature. Cheers - Gary

Connie, congratulations on this poem being on the Best New List. It is a wonderful entry for Angela's contest. I love your challenge to all of us to live in the presence of joy, hope and kindness. So many wonderful images "shape shifting clouds," "limbs share shade." And yes, we have to be taught these life lessons! So happy to see this on the Best New List. I think Angela will like this for her contest. Happy Valentine's Day dear friend! Sending blessings of hope and joy and a hug!

just love this positive and beautiful poem, connie. I could have sworn I had seen it, but i do not see any comment from me. I pray that one day your Hawaii will be the one you were able to go about it freely without all the ridiculous mandates imposed on you. This offers up such hope.

Well my husband and family are Chinese/Hawaiians so we celebrate Chinese New Year. Our family belongs to a Chinese club and does the Lion Dance for parties and Lunar New Year. My daughter used to play the drums for it. Girls are not allowed to be inside the Lion which is what she wanted to do. His family has lots of cultural traditions we are a part of. Thank you Bill. Blessings xxoo
