Journey

Lost in Nature Sun's golden glean cascades over the peak To brush reflections where the black waters lay The sunlight paints the enchantment I seek And offers scenes of a glowing ballet I close my eyes while in this sacred place Where only the sound of my breath is heard My soul's dim light is a flickering trace And trembles like a child searching for words I grasp the knowledge of my spirit's flaw As Nature's masterpiece welcomes my eyes My soul's found naked, my heart's pierced in awe I am moved to smallness beneath its skies How slow the sun sets to quell its dim light How quickly it falls, silent in the night 1/24/16 re-written 9/11/21 contest J-new or old sponsor Constance La France
