Jaded edges of despair
fowl your mood and taint the air.
For bleeding out shades of grey,
shadows wash color away.
Snagged on barbs of darkness,
smiles camouflage life's starkness.
And yet, such sadness and tears
offer no refuge from fears.
A cloak of best intentions
can't predict interventions.
And not readily noticed,
depression goes unnoticed.
So, if you fear you're alone,
step outside your comfort zone.
Allow God into your heart;
let faith fuel a new start.
