Jack In the Box
Jack seldom ventured outside of his box,
comfortable although his body position was always squat,
feeling happy he sat inside eating bagels and lox,
some days wearing only a pair of beige socks,
He didn't like the grown-up world that was outside,
liked his little man cave that was held inside,
would only pop out when it came to child's play,
but that would only happen on a rainy day,
Typing on his laptop that was in his box,
he'd write to and connect with all the other Jacks,
sometimes they'd say its time to think outside the box,
Jack disagreed and thought they're heads were full of rocks,
The other Jacks got out of they're boxes and ventured outside,
they knew it would be a risk and a heck of a ride,
most finding a job working at a Jack in the Box,
some going to trade school to learn about being a Jack of all sorts,
So Jack stayed forever home in his man cave,
he thought of his friends as being nothing but slaves,
didn't want to ever go venture outside of his box,
nor ever wanting to go to a school of hard knocks.
