~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In a green sea, blue dots shake and sway; chicory flowers move with passing cars. As the sun claims his throne once more today, brighter skies shall submit to countless stars. Blooms sit tall on thistle, purple and pink, adding a vast hue of violet to fields. Sat outside, staring, I can only think about the chroma that the soil wields. The busy ants and hectic damselflies seem to hardly notice the bluejay's call. White-tails feast on ivy the land supplies. Full and green again, the maple stands tall. As the fox nimbly retreats to its den, with contentment I voice, "It's spring again."
thank you, dearest Sotto, for taking the time to thoroughly read and comment on my Sonnet. Your words mean a great deal to me especially since I don't typically write in the Sonnet form. I appreciate you expressing your reactions about my poem and the awe inspiring aspects of nature. Grateful you 'got' my poem. Have a fantastic evening, your poetess friend in Texas, Sara
Dear sara, you always write those seasonal poems so well, and I absolutely love this one here, woven in such an eloquent manner with excellent rhymes too. I see through your words damselflies and busy ants as well as the sky submitting to stars. How soul warming is the way you paint imagery, in such an artistic manner. Chicory flowers and purple and pink blooms all so well articulated, pleasure always reading your work. I hope you are enjoying the sun. Its too sunny here at the moment. Love this
Thanks for your kind words, Kim. I agree with you on the bug thing...don't like creepy, crawly things. We live near a creek; when it warms, the snakes come out...they're not poisonous...just make my skin crawl :-) enjoy your evening, hugs and blessings, Sara
So artfully rendered. I call it spring fever that makes us write about it.
